Fall Armyworm (FAW)
https://agrictoday.com.gh/2020/05/11/the-fall-armyworm-faw-solution-to-combat-the-pandemic/
Intercroping maize with cowpea is one of the recommended cultural practices for FAW management. The cowpea provides conducive environment for the natural enemies. The intercrop also obstructs balooning larvae from reaching to the prefer host-maize. The larvae that lands in the cowpea plant starve and die. The so klin has not been scientifically proven to manage the FAW. In 2017 some farmers lost their crops after applying so klin powder. The maize under moisture stress scorched few days after the application.
